Job summary

Dewis Centre for Independent Living in Wales is seeking a dedicated Personal Assistant to support a local child in accessing community activities, in a safe, structured and enjoyable way.

You will help build confidence, independence and social skills while taking part in activities like parks, leisure facilities and community events. This is a part-time role with 4 hours per week and DBS checks are required.

Qualifications

• Experience in supporting children with autism and ALN.
• Kind, patient and reliable approach to activities with a child.
• Ability to build trust and positive relationships in the community.

Responsibilities

• Support the child to safely access local community activities and venues.
• Accompany for parks, swimming, bowling, and other leisure trips.
• Encourage independence, confidence and social interaction.
• Provide prompts and support with toileting when needed and manage safety.
• Communicate with family about activities and any concerns.
