Job summary

Dewis Centre for Independent Living in Wales is seeking a Personal Assistant to support a 7-year-old boy in the community, focusing on safety and meaningful activities. This role centers on building trust through patient, engaging interaction and appropriate use of AAC devices where needed.

You will work roughly 3 hours per week, preferably on weekends, with an initial short-term contract and potential for longer-term opportunities.

Qualifications

• Must pass DBS Disclosure (Police Check) prior to employment.
• Valid references are required.
• Car owner/driver with own vehicle for outings.

Responsibilities

• Support the child in community activities that are fun and engaging.
• Ensure safety at all times and practice hyper-vigilance when out.
• Assist with some personal care if needed during outings.
• Accompany the child to beaches and local areas.
• Build a trusting relationship and participate in activities with the child.
