Job summary

DEWIS Centre for Independent Living in Wales is seeking a personal assistant to support a 7-year-old in the community. The role is part-time (approx. 3 hours per week), with a requirement to drive the family car to accompany outings.

The position includes some personal care, high safety vigilance, and DBS clearance is required before starting. Pay is £14.00 per hour plus 0.40p per mile, and wages are paid four-weekly.

Qualifications

• DBS disclosure required and verification of right to work in UK before employment begins.
• Must be a car owner/driver willing to use own car for outings.

Responsibilities

• Encourage engagement in local community activities and outings.
• Provide some personal care if required (toilet training mentioned).
• Maintain high vigilance to keep the child safe during activities and travel.
• Support the child at the beach and in routes outside the home.
