An exciting opportunity has arisen for a compassionate, motivated and organised Support Time and Recovery Worker to join the Mental Health and Wellness Team South in Waltham Forest. The Mental Health and Wellness Team is a community based multidisciplinary service supporting adults with a range of mental health needs.

The team works collaboratively with service users, carers, health professionals, social care colleagues and community organisations to promote recovery, independence and social

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting people with mental health or social care needs.
  • Recovery-focused, person-centred support.
  • Compassion, patience and respect.
  • Ability to engage individuals who may distrust services.
  • Strong written, verbal and organisational skills.
  • Confidence using electronic records, email and standard software.
  • Ability to work independently in community settings.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and adapt to changing needs.
  • Commitment to confidentiality, boundaries, safeguarding and risk management.
  • Interest in benefits, housing, and welfare resources.
  • Value partnership working and community collaboration.
  • Commitment to inclusive practice and addressing inequalities.

Responsibilities

  • Work with multidisciplinary team across health and social care.
  • Build recovery-focused plans with service users.
  • Support Access and Triage, gather information and assist appointments.
  • Assist with benefits applications and welfare advice.
  • Provide practical support with housing, finances, appointments and daily living.
  • Accompany service users to appointments.
  • Encourage engagement in education, training and community activities.
  • Promote independence and social networks.
  • Promote health checks and wellbeing.
  • Record contacts and interventions clearly and timely.
  • Develop links with voluntary and community resources.
  • Maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries.
