Volunteer Opportunity: Community Outreach Person
Organisation: Path to True Wellbeing (CIC)
Location: Remote (UK-wide) - with a focus on reaching community groups and organisations.
Time Commitment: Approximately one day per week, with flexible scheduling across the week.
Reporting To: Founder and Marketing Director, Path to True Wellbeing.
About Path to True Wellbeing:
Path to True Wellbeing is a Community Interest Company (CIC) dedicated to helping people improve and maintain their mental, emotional, and physical wellbeing. Our vision is to make a diverse range of effective therapies and coaching services affordable and accessible as quickly as possible to those who need them. We are a collective of experienced therapists and coaches across the UK, offering various modalities to support individuals facing a wide range of challenges.
The Opportunity:
We are seeking a passionate and proactive volunteer to join us as a Community Outreach Person. This is a new and exciting role focused on raising awareness of Path to True Wellbeing within local communities and connecting with individuals and groups who may benefit from our affordable services but may not otherwise know about us. This role is crucial in helping us reach those who may face barriers to accessing traditional therapy and coaching.
Key Responsibilities:
- Community Engagement: Identifying and reaching out to relevant community groups, social prescribers, local councils, charities, and other organisations that support individuals with mental, emotional, and physical wellbeing needs. Examples include mums' groups, mental health support groups, and other relevant charitable organisations.
- Networking: Building and maintaining positive relationships with key contacts within these organisations.
- Information Dissemination: Effectively communicating the mission, values, and services offered by Path to True Wellbeing. This may involve phone calls, emails, and potentially virtual or in-person (if feasible and desired by the volunteer) introductions.
- Resource Sharing: Distributing information materials such as leaflets (when available) and directing contacts to our social media channels and website.
- Identifying Opportunities: Researching and identifying potential opportunities for Path to True Wellbeing to collaborate with other organisations or participate in community events (virtually or potentially in person).
- Feedback and Reporting: Providing regular updates to the Founder and Marketing Director on outreach activities, progress, and any feedback received from the community.
- Collaboration: Working closely with the Founder and Marketing Director to develop and refine outreach strategies.
What We Are Looking For:
- Passion for Wellbeing: A genuine interest in mental health, emotional wellbeing, and making support accessible to all.
- Excellent Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly and concisely.
- Interpersonal Skills: Ability to build rapport and establish positive relationships with a diverse range of individuals and organisations.
- Proactive and Self-Motivated: Ability to work independently, take initiative, and manage their own time effectively.
- Networking Skills: Comfortable with reaching out to new contacts and building connections.
- Organisational Skills: Ability to keep track of contacts, activities, and progress.
- Reliability and Commitment: Dedication to fulfilling the agreed-upon time commitment.
- IT Literacy: Comfortable using email, online communication tools, and social media platforms.
What You Can Gain:
- Make a Real Difference: Contribute directly to making affordable wellbeing support accessible to those who need it most.
- Valuable Experience: Gain practical experience in community outreach, networking, and working within a growing Community Interest Company.
- Professional Development: Develop your communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
- Induction and Support: Receive a thorough induction into Path to True Wellbeing's mission, values, and services, along with ongoing support and guidance from the Founder and Marketing Director.
- Flexibility: Enjoy a flexible volunteering schedule that can fit around your other commitments.
- Be Part of a Compassionate Team: Join a team of dedicated individuals who are passionate about making a positive impact.
