MERITUS are excited to be partnered with an innovative Systems Integration Consultancy within the Power Generation industry. We're looking for an experienced Commissioning Engineer to support the testing, commissioning and optimisation of advanced electrical automation and control systems.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a forward-thinking organisation delivering innovative solutions across energy, water, renewables and manufacturing. The role offers long-term career growth, exposure to major UK infrastructure projects, and the chance to work with cutting-edge control, protection and SCADA technologies.

As a Commissioning Engineer, you will be responsible for testing, fault‑finding and commissioning electrical automation and control systems ranging from small modifications to complete system replacements. You will interpret engineering designs, lead site commissioning activities, support FAT/SAT processes, and contribute to the development of testing documentation. The role is split between the Stone office and client sites across the UK, requiring strong communication skills, technical expertise and a hands‑on engineering approach.

Main Responsibilities
  • Conduct site acceptance testing (SAT) and commissioning in accordance with approved documentation.
  • Support and execute factory acceptance testing (FAT) activities.
  • Provide technical supervision for installation works across client sites.
  • Deploy configuration files to SCADA, RTU, PLC, IED and networking devices, verifying successful operation.
  • Carry out electrical and electronic fault‑finding, ensuring all findings are accurately documented and resolved.
Required Skills
  • Qualification or strong experience in an electrical engineering discipline, with solid knowledge of commissioning methodologies.
  • Proven experience in electrical/electronic fault diagnosis and system testing.
  • Understanding of industrial communication networks and protocols (Ethernet, fibre, serial, etc.).
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics and wiring diagrams.
  • BS#removed#th Edition and C&G 2391 Inspection & Testing qualifications (essential).
