The Kitchen by James Martin at Chewton Glen in New Milton, England is seeking a Commis Chef to support the Head Chef and Chef de Partie in an open-plan kitchen.

You will help prepare dishes to high standards, work alongside a dedicated brigade and ensure presentation, taste and cleanliness are maintained.

Offered is a £31,724.16 annual salary with £6,480 troncs, accommodation if required, free team meals and generous staff discounts.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in working in a hotel or restaurant kitchen is essential.
• Experience working to a rosette standard would be desirable.
• Confident working in a small team in view of your guests in an open kitchen.
• You will have a keen eye for detail, organisational skills and confident in communicating with the team.

Responsabilités

• Assisting the Head Chef during each service ensuring dishes are prepared to the highest standards.
• Work in unison with the chef's brigade running your section with pride
• Be a key part of the team feeding guests in our beautiful open plan kitchen restaurant
• To liaise with the Head Chef with reference to possible improvements on dishes and service
• To take ownership and ensure that presentation, taste, texture and quality are maintained at all times
• To have pride in achieving and maintaining high standards of cleanliness throughout your section and the kitchen as a whole

The Kitchen by James Martin, provides an informal dining experience with an open plan layout offering our guests the chance to watch the Chefs brigade at work. The à la carte menu features wood-fired pizzas, gourmet burgers, superfood salads and much more. Let's not forget within The Kitchen is our state of the art cookery school running daily cookery classes too.

The Kitchen stands proud in the grounds of Chewton Glen, a true English original. Privately owned this luxury country house hotel & spa is located in the heart of the tranquil New Forest countryside and just minutes from the coast. 72 bedroom hotel has a spa, two restaurants and 14 stunning treehouse rooms.

Aim of the Commis Chef

Working for the Head Chef and Chef de Partie as part of a team preparing dishes that are made to the highest standards as laid by Chewton Glen.
