Job summary

The Kitchen at Chewton Glen, run in collaboration with James Martin, seeks a Chef to work under the Head Chef and Chef de Partie in our open plan kitchen. We offer an informal dining experience with wood-fired pizzas, burgers, salads and daily cookery classes.

Experience in a hotel/restaurant kitchen is required. You will thrive in a small team, with a keen eye for detail, strong organisational skills and clear communication. Accommodation available if needed and staff meals are provided.

• Experience in hotel or restaurant kitchen.
• Confident working in a small team in view of guests.
• Keen eye for detail, organisational skills and communicating with the team.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Head Chef during each service ensuring dishes are prepared to high standards.
• Work with the brigade, running your section with pride.
• Be a key part of the team feeding guests in the open plan kitchen restaurant.
• Liaise with Head Chef on possible improvements to dishes and service.
• Take ownership to ensure presentation, taste, texture and quality are maintained.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness in your section and the kitchen overall.
• Lead by example as part of a close knit brigade.
