Cambridge College in Cambridge is seeking a motivated Commis Chef to join our client's catering team. The role offers a competitive salary and a structured full-time 40-hour week with every other weekend off, working in a busy professional kitchen serving students, staff, fellows and guests.

You will support senior chefs, assist with prep, cooking and presentation, maintain hygiene and safety standards and help deliver high-quality dining experiences in a prestigious college setting.

Qualifications

• Some experience in a professional kitchen would be advantageous.
• A genuine passion for cooking and desire to learn.
• Positive attitude and ability to work well in a team.
• Good organisational skills in a busy environment.
• Understanding of food hygiene and kitchen safety.

Responsabilités

• Assisting with the preparation, cooking and presentation of dishes to a high standard.
• Supporting senior chefs with daily kitchen operations and service.
• Preparing fresh ingredients and maintaining an organised, efficient workstation.
• Ensuring excellent standards of food hygiene, health and safety at all times.
• Following recipes, portion control and food presentation guidelines.
• Assisting with stock rotation, deliveries and minimising food waste.
• Working collaboratively with the wider catering team to deliver an excellent dining experience.
