Job summary

The Chelsea Harbour Hotel is part of Millennium Hotels & Resorts, and is seeking a dedicated Commis Chef to join our luxury kitchen team in London. You will support senior chefs in preparing and presenting dishes to high standards, while maintaining cleanliness and organisation in a fast-paced environment.

Ideal candidates will have kitchen experience or formal culinary training, a passion for food and a strong understanding of hygiene and safety practices.

Qualifications

• Previous kitchen experience or culinary training within a hotel, restaurant, or similar environment.
• Genuine passion for food and a desire to develop culinary skills.
• Good understanding of food hygiene and food safety practices.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication skills and a positive attitude.
• Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends and public holidays.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality food.

Responsibilities

• Assist chefs in preparing and cooking food items according to recipes and presentation standards.
• Support the preparation and organisation of mise en place for service.
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of kitchen workstations and equipment.
• Ensure all food preparation tasks are carried out in line with food safety and health & safety regulations.
• Receive and store deliveries, checking the quality and freshness of ingredients.
• Support the kitchen team during busy service periods to ensure smooth operations.
• Report any equipment issues or safety concerns to supervisors promptly.
• Contribute to a positive and collaborative working environment.
