Stafffinders in Glasgow is seeking a motivated Commis Chef to join a well-established hospitality venue on a permanent basis. You'll work in a busy professional kitchen, learn from talented chefs and build a foundation for a culinary career.

You will assist senior chefs with mise en place, prep ingredients, and maintain cleanliness and food safety standards. Strong English communication and a flexible, reliable attitude are essential to thrive in a busy team.

Qualifications

• Experience in a hospitality kitchen and understanding of basic cooking techniques.
• Good English communication and attention to detail.
• Reliable, organised and flexible with a team-focused attitude.

Responsibilities

• Assist senior chefs with preparing fresh ingredients, chopping vegetables, portioning food and completing mise en place.
• Keep workstations clean, organised and fully stocked for efficient service.
• Receive deliveries, check and store ingredients, rotate stock and minimise food waste.
• Carry out basic cooking tasks and prepare dishes under guidance of senior chefs.
• Maintain high hygiene standards and follow safe food handling procedures to prevent cross-contamination.
• Support the wider kitchen team while developing culinary skills and knowledge of professional kitchen operations.
