Do you want to learn from experienced chefs in one of Birmingham’s most iconic hotels?

As a Commis Chef at The Grand Hotel Birmingham you’ll be part of a fast-moving kitchen team, preparing fresh dishes for guests and building the skills to take your career forward. It’s a hands-on role where you’ll support senior chefs, rotate across different sections, and play your part in delivering high standards every day.

Typical shifts include day shifts, evenings, and weekends when we prepare for service or when the operation in full swing.

What you’ll do;

• Prepare ingredients, cook simple dishes and plate food to the right standard
• Support service by keeping things organised and running smoothly
• Rotate through different kitchen sections as part of your training and development
• Maintain high food hygiene and safety standards at all times
• Assist with stock control and help reduce waste
• Work as part of the team, stepping in to support wherever needed

What you’ll bring

• Experience in a kitchen environment is always a plus however this is not essential
• A genuine passion for food and the ambition to progress in your career
• Food hygiene knowledge – a food hygiene certificate is desirable
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Flexibility to work a shift pattern that includes evenings and weekends
