Job summary

The Club Company is seeking an enthusiastic Commis Chef to join our kitchen team at a prestigious golf and country club in Fareham. You will assist the Sous Chef with food preparation to specification and help source ingredients while minimising wastage.

Maintain a clean workstation and ensure safe handling practices at all times. You will report to the Head Chef, participate in departmental meetings and assist during busy periods, while taking part in training and continuous improvement

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• GCSE qualification and/or Level 1 and 2 Food Safety Awards.
• Previous hospitality industry cooking experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Sous Chef in food preparation to specification and ensure high-quality dishes.
• Source necessary ingredients and small equipment and minimise wastage.
• Maintain a clean, sanitary workstation and follow safe food handling practices.
• Report to the Head Chef, participate in meetings, and assist during busy periods.
• Engage in training and continuous improvement initiatives.
