Job summary

Baxterstorey is seeking a passionate Commis Chef in Yeovil to join our kitchen team. You will prepare and cook dishes to the head chef's standards, manage your station, and help maintain high food quality and safety across shifts.

We offer excellent development opportunities, training, and a supportive environment where creativity thrives. This full-time role includes shifts from Monday to Friday with daytime hours.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Commis Chef or similar role.
• Knowledge of various cooking techniques and cuisines.
• Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation practices.

Responsibilities

• Food Preparation – prepare and cook dishes according to recipes and standards, ensuring food safety.
• Station Management – oversee production of dishes at your station and keep area clean.
• Quality Control – maintain high quality, presentation and taste of dishes.
• Team Collaboration – communicate well with team and coach junior chefs.
• Menu Development – assist head chef in developing and tasting new recipes.
• Cleaning and Maintenance – keep kitchen area clean and equipment in good order.
