Job summary

The Westgate, a Young's Pub & Rooms in Winchester, is seeking a Commis Chef on a 30 hour contract. You will join a welcoming team delivering fresh, quality dishes under the Head Chef.

Qualifications

• Experience as a commis chef or kitchen porter is preferred.
• Willingness to learn and contribute to a busy kitchen.

• Work alongside the kitchen team to maintain cleanliness and organization.
• Demonstrate willingness to learn new skills and adapt to menu changes.
• Support senior chefs in delivering top quality service.

We are expanding our team and looking for a Commis Chef

We are looking for an existing Commis Chef, an excellent Kitchen Porter or an individual looking for their next step to their hospitality career, who consider themselves to have a passion and flare for producing quality fresh food in an environment that makes people feel welcome. As the successful Commis Chef, reporting to the Head Chef, you will:

• Be an active hands-on person with a passion to work hard as part of a team
• Have high standards and a great work ethic
• Show willingness to learn new skills; be an active team player with excellent communication skills
• Working alongside your kitchen team; you will be able to demonstrate your creativity and ability by helping to deliver top quality service
• Demonstrate great planning and organisational skills to complete day to day tasks
