Job summary

RBH Hospitality Management is seeking a Kitchen Assistant for its Townhouse Hotel in Manchester. You will assist in preparing ingredients, learn cooking techniques, and help maintain a clean, well‑organised kitchen to support busy service periods.

Genuine interest in cooking and a willingness to learn are essential. Some kitchen experience is a plus, but dedication and hard work are the priority.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing ingredients for dishes at various stations.
• Work alongside senior chefs to learn cooking techniques.
• Maintain a clean, organised workstation and hygiene standards.
• Assist with kitchen inventory and stock monitoring.
• Perform basic cooking tasks such as sauces, grilling, and plating.
• Participate in regular cleaning duties to keep equipment and surfaces spotless.
• Quickly learn kitchen procedures and contribute to a well‑organised team.
• Demonstrate genuine interest in cooking and eagerness to learn in a professional kitchen.
• Willingness to learn and apply kitchen skills.
• Understand basic food prep techniques and commit to improvement.
• Maintain high attention to cleanliness and food safety.

Job description

• Assist in preparing ingredients for various dishes, from chopping and slicing to marinating and portioning, to ensure each station runs smoothly.
• Work alongside senior chefs in all sections, gaining hands‑on experience and refining essential cooking techniques.
• Maintain a clean, organised workstation, following hygiene and food safety standards rigorously.
• Help with kitchen inventory by preparing ingredients, monitoring stock levels, and informing chefs when supplies are low.
• Take on basic cooking tasks, including making sauces, grilling, frying, and assisting with plating.
• Participate in regular cleaning duties to ensure all equipment and surfaces are kept spotless.
• Quickly learn and adapt to kitchen procedures, contributing effectively to a well‑organised team.
  Genuine interest in cooking and enthusiasm for learning in a professional kitchen.
• Some previous kitchen experience is a plus, but a willingness to work hard and learn is essential.
