Job summary

Townhouse Hotel in Manchester is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to join our busy hotel kitchen team. You will help keep the kitchen clean, support chefs with prep, and assist during busy service periods.

Responsibilities

• Keep the kitchen running smoothly by cleaning and organising equipment, utensils, and workspaces.
• Wash and sanitise pots, pans, dishes, and other kitchen tools, making sure everything is ready for the next dish.
• Help with basic food prep tasks, like peeling, chopping, or portioning ingredients, to support the chefs during busy shifts.
• Carry out other duties including cooking breakfast, supporting breakfast service and assisting during busy dinner functions.
• Manage waste by disposing of rubbish, recycling, and maintaining a clean, safe environment.
• Keep storage areas stocked, organised, and clean, ensuring supplies are easy to find and ready to use.
• Assist with receiving and storing deliveries, helping to keep the kitchen stocked and organised.
• Follow health, safety, and hygiene standards rigorously, contributing to a safe and spotless kitchen.
• Be an extra pair of hands on busy services, including lunches, dinners and parties

The Townhouse Hotel is located on Manchester’s historic Portland Street, in Manchester’s vibrant city centre. The hotel features 85 en-suite bedrooms and a prestigious history dating back to the industrial revolution. A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A KITCHEN ASSISTANT AT OUR HOTEL

What you’ll be doing...

• Keep the kitchen running smoothly by cleaning and organising equipment, utensils, and workspaces.
