Courtyard by Marriott - Luton Airport is seeking a Commis Chef to join our friendly kitchen team. You will assist in preparing and cooking dishes to Marriott standards, learn under experienced chefs, and contribute to delivering memorable dining experiences for guests.

This role offers hands-on training, weekend and holiday shifts, and opportunities to develop culinary skills in a supportive environment within Lighthouse Hotel Management.

Qualifications

• Experience in a professional kitchen is desirable but not essential.
• Basic understanding of food hygiene and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook food items according to recipes and quality standards.

• Work efficiently under pressure during busy service periods.
• Contribute ideas to enhance menus and food presentation.

The Role

As a Commis Chef, you will play a key role in supporting our kitchen brigade by preparing and cooking high-quality dishes to Marriott's exacting standards. This position is ideal for someone eager to learn, develop their culinary skills, and contribute to creating memorable dining experiences for our guests.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation and cooking of food items according to recipes and quality standards.
• Ensure all food is prepared in line with health and safety regulations and Marriott's hygiene standards.
• Support senior chefs in daily kitchen duties and maintain cleanliness and organisation in your work area.
• Receive and store deliveries, checking for quality and freshness of ingredients.
• Work efficiently under pressure during busy service periods to ensure timely delivery of dishes.
• Contribute ideas and enthusiasm to help enhance menus and food presentation.
• Follow all food safety and sanitation procedures to maintain a safe kitchen environment.
