Job summary

Portsmouth Marriott Hotel is seeking a Commis Chef to join our kitchen team. We value enthusiasm and a desire to deliver high quality dishes at a world leading hospitality group.

You will prepare ingredients, operate ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves and fryers, and help maintain safety standards. The role supports weekends and bank holidays, with opportunities for progression in a supportive Marriott environment.

Qualifications

• Prepare ingredients, portion, chop and store food according to recipes and standards.
• Cook according to recipes, quality standards and presentation checklists.
• Operate ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves and fryers.
• Follow safety policies and report maintenance needs or unsafe conditions.

Responsibilities

JOB SUMMARY

The Portsmouth Marriott Hotel is looking for a Commis Chef to join the kitchen team!

We are looking for an enthusiastic Commis Chef wanting to ensure high quality dishes at the world leading hospitality company, PortsmouthMarriott Hotel. Located near famous landmarks such as the Spinnaker Tower has a range of amenities including: Cast Iron Bar & Grill, our signature restaurant andfitness centre.

The Portsmouth Marriott Hotelprovides exceptional, personal, and friendly service whilst catering to a variety of guests.

As the Commis Chef you will…

• Prepare ingredients for cooking, including portioning, chopping and storing food. Wash and peel fresh fruits and vegetables.
• Prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality standards, presentation standards, and food preparation checklist.
• Operate ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers.
• Test foods to determine if they have been cooked sufficiently
• Set-up and break down work station.
• Follow all company, safety and security policies and procedures; report maintenance needs, accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to manager; complete safety training and certifications
• Embrace the Marriott culture
