Job summary

The National Trust is seeking a Commercial Team Leader to supervise the day-to-day operations of a property commercial team within food & beverage and retail at Avebury, Marlborough.

You’ll lead a busy café and shop, coach colleagues, manage displays, stock, and help hit income targets while delivering outstanding service. 37.5 hours, weekends and bank holidays; fixed-term until 30 September 2027.

Hours: Full time, 37.5 hours a week. 5 to 7 days a week, this role will include working weekends and bank holidays, but no evenings.

Salary: £25,837.50 per annum

Duration: Fixed term contract until 30-September-2027

What it's like to work here

Reporting to the Commercial Manager, you’ll be part of a core team of 8 which grows significantly seasonally, working at Avebury between our outlets.

What you'll be doing

As a Team Leader, you'll support and motivate your team to deliver great service in our busy café and shop, so you'll be adaptable and ready to get involved wherever needed.

With a focus on front-of-house, you'll create a warm welcome for every visitor and lead by example in delivering outstanding customer service. Using your eye for detail, you'll ensure displays and signage are accurate and up to date, while occasionally supporting back-of-house activities.

You’ll help monitor stock levels, promote products and contribute to income targets that support the National Trust's conservation work. You'll also play an important role in welcoming, training and developing colleagues, helping to build a confident team.

We'll provide an induction, along with training in food safety and allergens. There are also opportunities to take part in further learning and development if you'd like to grow your skills.
