Job summary

The National Trust is seeking a Food and Beverage Team Member for a rural location near Dorking. You will work 22.5 hours per week across 3 days, including weekends and bank holidays, with exact hours agreed at interview.

The role focuses on front-of-house duties, customer service, and maintaining the look and standard of displays and product presentation. You’ll receive induction, allergen and food safety training, with opportunities for further professional development.

The National Trust is renowned for its food and hospitality. We run 185 cafes, tea-rooms and restaurants all over England, Wales and Northern Ireland, and we'd love you to join us. We’re looking for a Food and Beverage Team Member. In this role, you'd be making a real difference to the work of the National Trust, as well as helping to give people a memorable day out.

Contract type: Permanent

Hours/Working pattern: 22.5 hours a week over 3 days, including weekends and bank holidays with exact hours to be agreed at interview.

As a Team Member, your main focus will be front of house, dealing directly with people. You'll welcome and look after everyone who comes to the café. With your love of working with people, your 'can-do' attitude and your desire to provide an outstanding service, you'll be making sure everyone has an enjoyable time. This is a lively business that’s constantly on the go, so teamwork and adaptability are crucial.

You'll be keen to understand what people want, to help them and to make recommendations. You'll always keep the standards of food and drink preparation and presentation high. Using your excellent eye for detail, you'll make sure all displays and signs are accurate and looking good. At times, you may need to help the kitchen team with preparing food.

We'll give you an induction that fits the job, and training in allergens and food safety, plus any mentoring needed to help you in your role. You can sign up for further professional training and development if you wish.
