Job summary

Slater Heelis, a leading law firm, seeks a Commercial Solicitor to join the Commercial Team. You will advise on a broad range of commercial matters for owner-managed businesses, SMEs and larger corporates, partnering with the Head of Department to drive growth.

Your role covers drafting and negotiating agreements, IT/Tech contracts, data protection matters and business development initiatives, all delivered with pragmatic, commercially focused advice in a supportive, collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Experience advising on commercial law, IT/Tech, and non-contentious IP.
• Strong drafting and negotiation skills.
• Excellent client-facing and communication abilities.
• Ability to manage a varied workload and provide pragmatic advice.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements.
• Advise on supply, distribution, agency and service contracts.
• Provide commercial support on corporate transactions.
• Assist clients with B2B arrangements and risk management.
• Advise on terms and conditions, trading arrangements and policies.
• Advise on and draft technology agreements (SaaS, PaaS, Cloud, software development).
• Support data protection, data transfers and data compliance matters.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships with practical, commercial advice.
• Participate in business development, networking and growth of the team.

The Role

You will advise on a broad range of commercial matters, working closely with businesses at every stage of their growth, from owner-managed businesses and SMEs to larger corporate organisations.

Your work will include:

• Drafting, reviewing and negotiating a wide range of commercial agreements
• Advising on supply, distribution, agency and service contracts
• Providing commercial support on corporate transactions
• Assisting clients with business-to-business arrangements and risk management
• Advising on terms and conditions, trading arrangements and commercial policies
• Advising on and drafting technology agreements - SaaS, PaaS, Cloud Services and software/application development
• Supporting clients with data protection, data transfers and data compliance matters
• Building and maintaining strong client relationships through practical, commercially focused advice
• You will also play an active role in business development initiatives, networking activities and supporting the continued growth of the team.
