Job summary

Gallagher in the United Kingdom is seeking a Commercial Property Underwriter to join our team. You will underwrite risks for residential and commercial landlords, mixed occupancy properties, and high‑value portfolios, while ensuring compliance and profitability.

You’ll analyze risk information, negotiate terms with brokers, monitor portfolio performance, and contribute to product development and underwriting strategies in a supportive, inclusive environment.

Qualifications

Experience underwriting Commercial Property Owners insurance.
Ability to analyse property values, construction details, and claims history.
Strong communication and broker-negotiation skills.
Detail-oriented and commercially aware.
Cert CII, Dip CII, or ACII is a plus.

Responsibilities

Underwrite commercial property risks, including residential and commercial landlords, mixed occupancy properties, and high‑value portfolios.
Assess new business, renewals, and policy amendments, ensuring compliance with company guidelines and regulatory standards.
Build strong relationships with brokers, negotiating terms and pricing to secure profitable business.
Monitor portfolio performance, identify trends, and take corrective action to meet growth and profitability targets.
Support broker development initiatives and contribute to product development and underwriting strategies.
