Job summary

Marks Sattin is seeking an experienced Credit Controller to manage and pursue outstanding balances across a commercial property portfolio. You will monitor arrears, contact tenants, and review accounts to identify risks while coordinating with Property Managers to report on debtor positions.

The role requires strong communication, negotiation and relationship management skills, with the ability to handle multiple accounts and stakeholders effectively.

Qualifications

• Previous credit control experience is essential, ideally in commercial property, real estate or a related sector.
• Knowledge of commercial debt recovery processes, including CRAR, would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Manage and pursue outstanding tenant balances across a commercial property portfolio.
• Monitor arrears relating to rent, service charges, insurance premiums, utilities and other occupier costs.
• Engage with tenants by phone, email and written correspondence to resolve overdue accounts and payment queries.
• Review accounts to identify collection risks and recommend recovery actions.
• Support debt recovery procedures and enforcement remedies where necessary.
• Liaise with Property Managers to provide updates on debtor positions and collection activity.
• Maintain accurate records of communications, payment arrangements and account statuses.
• Prepare arrears schedules and debt analysis reports for stakeholders and clients.
• Attend weekly debt review meetings with surveyors to discuss accounts and strategies.
• Produce weekly and monthly reporting packs detailing collection performance and trends.
• Assist with administration of formal recovery processes, including debt legislation and enforcement procedures.
