Location: Hybrid – London (Farringdon base)Rate: £35 per hour PAYE / £45 Umbrella or Deemed LTD (inside IR35)

I’m working with a leading housing organisation that’s reshaping communities across London and the South East. They’re a major player—large enough to influence real change, but local enough to put people first. This is a fantastic opportunity for a commercially astute professional to join an ambitious Development & Sales directorate, helping to shape the successful delivery of a diverse and complex project pipeline.

The Role:

Reporting into the Head of Commercial, you’ll act as a key commercial partner across the full development lifecycle—providing contract, procurement, and cost advice to ensure delivery, value and risk mitigation across the capital programme.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading on construction procurement, framework structuring and contract negotiation.
  • Supporting the review and interrogation of cost plans, contractor pricing and valuations.
  • Ensuring robust risk management processes are in place across projects.
  • Partnering with project and construction leads to navigate commercial challenges during delivery.
  • Supporting dispute resolution and claims when they arise.
  • Monitoring spend profiles and cost performance across the wider programme.
What We’re Looking For:
  • A commercially minded professional with experience in contract negotiation and cost control on major capital or development projects.
  • Strong understanding of procurement routes and construction forms of contract.
  • Skilled in presenting complex financial and programme data clearly and confidently.
  • Collaborative approach with a real focus on stakeholder engagement and adding value.
Qualifications:
  • Degree-level qualification or equivalent experience is essential.
  • Professional qualifications such as MRICS or MCIOB (or working towards) are highly desirable.
