Job summary

Aldwych Consulting is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor stepping into a Commercial Manager role within a leading civil engineering contractor. This is a chance to drive commercial performance on major infrastructure and ground engineering projects across a varied portfolio.

You'll work closely with operations, clients and senior leadership to ensure projects are delivered safely, profitably and in line with NEC contracts. Hybrid working and career progression are on offer.

Qualifications

• Experience as Senior Quantity Surveyor or Commercial Manager.
• Civil engineering/infrastructure background (ground engineering, piling, rail, highways).
• Excellent NEC contracts knowledge.
• Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Commercial management of multiple civil engineering projects.
• Lead cost reporting, forecasting and financial performance.
• Manage subcontract procurement and subcontract accounts.
• Administer NEC contracts, including compensation events.
• Manage client relationships and commercial negotiations.
• Prepare CVRs, forecasts and monthly commercial reports.
• Identify commercial risks and opportunities.
• Support and mentor Quantity Surveyors within the team.
• Ensure projects are delivered through to final account.

We're working with a leading specialist civil engineering contractor to recruit a Commercial Manager to join their growing commercial team. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in delivering major infrastructure and ground engineering projects while leading commercial performance across a varied project portfolio.

You'll work closely with operational teams, clients and senior leadership to ensure projects are delivered safely, profitably and in line with contractual requirements.

Responsibilities

• Commercial management of multiple civil engineering projects.
• Leading cost reporting, forecasting and financial performance.
• Managing subcontract procurement and subcontract accounts.
• Administration of NEC contracts, including compensation events.
• Managing client relationships and commercial negotiations.
• Preparing CVRs, forecasts and monthly commercial reports.
• Identifying commercial risks and opportunities.
• Supporting and mentoring Quantity Surveyors within the team.
• Ensuring projects are successfully delivered through to final account.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor or Commercial Manager.
• Strong background within civil engineering, ground engineering, piling, rail, highways, utilities or infrastructure.
• Excellent knowledge of NEC contracts.
• Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Full UK driving licence.
