Job summary

Aldwych Consulting, on behalf of a leading civil engineering contractor, seeks a Commercial Manager to lead commercial performance across a varied project portfolio. You will work with operational teams, clients and senior leadership to ensure safe, profitable delivery in line with NEC contracts.

This role demands a Senior Quantity Surveyor background with strong commercial acumen and multi-project experience, and offers a hybrid working arrangement, car allowance, pension, private healthcare

• Experience in civil engineering, ground engineering, piling, rail, highways, utilities or infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Commercial management of multiple civil engineering projects.
• Leading cost reporting, forecasting and financial performance.
• Managing subcontract procurement and subcontract accounts.
• Administration of NEC contracts, including compensation events.
• Managing client relationships and commercial negotiations.
• Preparing CVRs, forecasts and monthly commercial reports.
• Identifying commercial risks and opportunities.
• Supporting and mentoring Quantity Surveyors within the team.
• Ensuring projects are delivered through to final account.

Are you an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor looking to step into a Commercial Manager role? Are you looking for a company that is looking to help you for a step up into Commercial Manager?

We're working with a leading specialist civil engineering contractor to recruit a Commercial Manager to join their growing commercial team. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in delivering major infrastructure and ground engineering projects while leading commercial performance across a varied project portfolio.

You'll work closely with operational teams, clients and senior leadership to ensure projects are delivered safely, profitably and in line with contractual requirements.

Responsibilities

• Commercial management of multiple civil engineering projects.
• Leading cost reporting, forecasting and financial performance.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor or Commercial Manager.
• Strong background within civil engineering, ground engineering, piling, rail, highways, utilities or infrastructure.
• Excellent knowledge of NEC contracts.
• Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Full UK driving licence.
