Job summary

Aldwych Consulting Ltd. is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor stepping into a Commercial Manager role to lead commercial performance across major infrastructure projects. You will work with operational teams, clients and leadership to ensure safe, profitable delivery in line with NEC contracts.

The role offers a hybrid working model with competitive salary, pension and private healthcare. You will mentor junior QS staff and help secure long-term project opportunities.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor or Commercial Manager.
• Strong background in civil engineering, ground engineering, piling, rail, highways, utilities or infrastructure.
• Excellent knowledge of NEC contracts.
• Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Commercial management of multiple civil engineering projects.
• Leading cost reporting, forecasting and financial performance.
• Managing subcontract procurement and subcontract accounts.
• Administration of NEC contracts, including compensation events.
• Managing client relationships and commercial negotiations.
• Preparing CVRs, forecasts and monthly commercial reports.
• Identifying commercial risks and opportunities.
• Supporting and mentoring Quantity Surveyors within the team.
• Ensuring projects are successfully delivered through to final account.

Are you an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor looking to step into a Commercial Manager role? Are you looking for a company that is looking to help you for a step up into Commercial Manager?

We're working with a leading specialist civil engineering contractor to recruit a Commercial Manager to join their growing commercial team. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in delivering major infrastructure and ground engineering projects while leading commercial performance across a varied project portfolio.

You'll work closely with operational teams, clients and senior leadership to ensure projects are delivered safely, profitably and in line with contractual requirements.
