Job Description:

Equans is a renowned energies & services contractor and a proud member of the Bouygues global industrial group. Our expertise spans the design, construction, and maintenance of buildings and critical infrastructure worldwide.

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Commercial Maintenance Plumber to join our facilities team working on our Metropolitan Police South East London FM contract based in Lewisham. This is a permanent full-time role working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

Key activities:

• Reporting to the M&E Supervisor
• Providing the safe operation, planned and reactive maintenance of M&E plant and equipment across MET Police South East London sites
• Carrying out installation of new M&E equipment as required, including minor new works, refurbishment, and capital works replacement programme
• Investigating, troubleshooting, and rectifying defects for all M&E systems and associated plant/components
• Overseeing/escorting any specialist contractor works as required
• Proactively identifying defects and faults outside of specialization and escalating accordingly
• Ensuring prompt and accurate completion of all associated paperwork
• Working 40 hours per week from 08:00 to 17:00, Monday to Friday, with participation in the on-call rota and out-of-hours activity
• Holding a recognized mechanical trade apprenticeship and/or relevant qualifications to level 3 (theory and practice) in a relevant mechanical discipline with suitable industry experience
• Undertaking unsupervised non-routine maintenance and complex repair/installation work
• Possessing good communication skills and being customer-focused with a proactive, flexible, can-do approach
• Ability to produce technical/incident reports
• Knowledge of Health and Safety procedures
• Successful applicants will be subject to Metropolitan Police security vetting
