Job summary

Matchtech Group is representing a leading infrastructure contractor in the water sector, seeking an experienced Commercial Manager to support a major clean water pipeline project in Romsey, near Southampton. This 16-month contract role offers the opportunity to lead the commercial function on a high-profile AMP programme with long-term project activity.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Commercial Manager within water, utilities, civil engineering or major infrastructure projects.
• Strong quantity surveying experience and commercial management expertise.
• Comprehensive knowledge of NEC contracts, particularly NEC Option C.
• Experience managing target cost contracts, cost-value reconciliations and project forecasting.
• Understanding of compensation events, change control and commercial risk management.
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication and leadership skills.
• Water, utilities or pipeline project experience would be highly advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead the commercial function across the clean water pipeline project.
• Manage NEC Option C contract administration and compliance.
• Oversee cost-value reconciliations, forecasting and commercial reporting.
• Manage target costs, compensation events and change control processes.
• Identify, assess and mitigate commercial risks and opportunities.
• Work closely with project teams, supply chain partners and key stakeholders.
• Provide commercial leadership to support the successful delivery of the project.
