Job description

Our client is an established UK-based Fintech with a growing customer base of over 1 million users, aiming to make financial management accessible to all. Since inception, they have developed innovative products and serve as an all-in-one platform for savings, investments, and pensions.

Position: Senior Commercial Lawyer (12-month fixed-term maternity cover)

The successful candidate will act as the Head of Legal for the Commercial Team, managing a small team of 3 professionals and reporting to the Legal Director. The role is based at the Central London Headquarters with a hybrid work model.

1. Responsibilities include:
2. Leading the Commercial Legal Team: supervising work distribution and executing the legal strategy.
3. Leading legal tech initiatives, including AI contract review tools, to enhance the Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) function.
4. Drafting and negotiating various commercial contracts with banking partners, outsourcers, and customer-facing terms.
5. Collaborating on the development of new products and promotional activities.
6. Advising the Compliance Team on regulatory matters as needed.

We seek candidates with experience handling escalation points on BAU commercial legal work and driving legal tech/efficiency projects within the financial services sector, preferably from fintech or early-growth companies.
