The legal team at Forvis Mazars UK is part of the Business Services division, acting as trusted advisors with a legal and commercial focus. The team, comprising 10 lawyers with varied backgrounds, collaborates closely with client-facing and support teams such as procurement and finance. The team handles both contentious and non-contentious legal matters.

The Role

We are seeking a commercial solicitor/legal counsel eager to advance in a dynamic environment within our supportive team. The role involves acting as a trusted advisor, ensuring excellent service while managing business risks. This is an 18-month fixed-term contract.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Providing legal, commercial, and risk management advice throughout client engagements
• Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial contracts with clients and suppliers, including engagement letters, master service agreements, NDAs, and hold harmless letters
• Supporting legal initiatives such as training, process improvements, and contract template updates, and mentoring junior team members

Person Specification

• Qualified solicitor with 4-6 years of post-qualification experience
• Strong technical legal knowledge
• Experience in-house within professional services or financial sectors is preferred but not essential
• Excellent communication skills and ability to meet deadlines under pressure
• Ability to develop collaborative relationships and understand client expectations
