Job Details:

Position: Commercial Legal Counsel & DPO (5+ PQE)

Mainly remote with ad-hoc in-office requirements.

About the Company:

Our client is a global network of higher education institutions with campuses across Europe, Asia, and North America.

Key Responsibilities:

• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements (e.g., IP licenses, service agreements, partnership agreements) with a strong understanding of data protection issues, including subject access requests.
• Collaborate with sales, marketing, and procurement teams to ensure agreements meet commercial and legal standards.
• Lead negotiations with customers, suppliers, and partners.
• Manage external counsel and corporate service providers.
• Handle a diverse workload, including commercial contracts, IP, litigation, and property matters.
• Provide corporate and M&A support, with experience in company law (banking/capital markets experience is a bonus).

Ideal Candidate:

• 5+ years’ PQE from a City or nationally recognized firm.
• Strong commercial experience, excellent academics, and ability to manage complex matters.
• Thrives in fast-paced, client-facing environments and demonstrates entrepreneurial teamwork.
• Skilled at mentoring junior team members.
