Job summary

Next Generation, a precision manufacturing business in the UK, is seeking a Commercial Manager to lead the commercial function from enquiry to order. You will own the RFQ and quotation process, set pricing strategies, and review contracts to protect margins while guiding a small team.

You will manage key accounts, report on enquiry levels and forecast sales, coordinate with Engineering and Production, and drive continuous improvement in commercial processes.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years’ experience as Commercial Manager in engineering or manufacturing.
• Ability to cost build and quote low-volume, high-mix components.
• Experience managing high-level commercial relationships.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop the commercial team with KPIs and appraisals.
• Own RFQ and quotation process end to end; load on tracker within 4 hours.
• Review quotations and pricing to achieve target margins.
• Own contract review; ensure terms are accepted or challenged before order.
• Monitor margin vs. quotes; lead price negotiations and annual reviews.
• Report weekly/monthly on enquiries, quotes, orders, and forecasts.
