Poolhall Recruitment Ltd is seeking an experienced Commercial Gas Heating Engineer to join a West Midlands team. The role offers a varied workload across industrial plants, offices, hotels and high-end residential developments, with full training to expand into HVAC maintenance.

You will service, maintain and repair gas-fired heating systems, boilers and water heaters, with occasional nationwide travel to support key accounts. A competitive salary of £50,000 is offered plus overtime and benefits.

Qualifications

• Proven commercial gas engineering experience.
• Current Gas Safe certification (COCN1, CODNCO1, or equivalent).
• Strong fault-finding skills and technical knowledge.
• Collaborative team player who can also operate independently.
• Must hold a Full UK driving licence.
• Interest in learning HVAC maintenance and broadening skills.

Responsibilities

• Service, maintain, and repair gas-fired heating plant and boilers.
• Service and repair water heaters and chilled water systems (training provided).
• Handle DX systems (VRV, splits, multi-splits) with training provided.
• Work on HVAC and refrigeration equipment with training provided.
• Perform reactive repairs and troubleshooting on heating equipment.
• Undertake routine inspections and identify performance or safety issues.
• Collaborate with colleagues on complex system issues and large installations.
• Work remotely and independently while keeping team informed.

This full-time role offers a varied workload across a diverse portfolio of clients, including industrial plants, offices, high-end residential developments, and hotels.

This is an ideal role for a commercial gas professional who wants to broaden their skill set into HVAC maintenance - full training and certifications provided.

About the Role

Working under the guidance of the Service Supervisor and Directors, you will be responsible for the service, maintenance, and repair of commercial heating systems, with the opportunity to expand into HVAC systems over time. While most work is West Midlands-based, you will occasionally travel nationally to support key accounts and project work.

What You'll Be Doing

• Service, maintain, and repair:
• Gas-fired heating plant
• Commercial boilers and water heaters
• Chilled water systems (training provided)
• DX systems (VRV, splits, multi-splits - training provided)
• HVAC and refrigeration equipment (training provided)
• Carry out reactive repairs and troubleshooting on heating equipment
• Undertake routine inspections and identify performance or safety issues
• Collaborate with colleagues on complex system issues and large installations
• Work remotely and independently while maintaining strong communication with the team

What We're Looking For
