Job summary

Branta Recruitment Ltd is supporting the recruitment of a Commercial Gas Engineer to cover a portfolio of commercial sites across the South West. The role focuses on planned and reactive maintenance, diagnostics, and ensuring all commercial gas systems remain safe, compliant and fully operational.

You'll work on offices, education, healthcare, retail and light industrial environments, deliver gas safety checks, and contribute to compliance documentation.

Qualifications

• Essential Commercial ACS credentials required.
• Must hold core commercial gas qualifications (COCN1, CODNCO1).
• CIGA1, CDGA1, ICPN1 and TPCP1A (or TPCP1) required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver PPM and reactive maintenance on commercial gas systems.
• Diagnose faults and complete repairs efficiently.
• Carry out gas safety checks, testing and certification.
• Maintain accurate compliance documentation.
• Work across multi-site environments and support wider building services teams.
• Participation in on‑call rota (enhanced rates).

Overview

We're supporting the recruitment of a Commercial Gas Engineer to cover a portfolio of commercial sites across the South West. The role focuses on planned and reactive maintenance, diagnostics, and ensuring all commercial gas systems remain safe, compliant and fully operational. Sites include offices, education, healthcare, retail and light industrial environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver PPM and reactive maintenance on commercial heating systems
• Diagnose faults and complete repairs efficiently
• Work on commercial boilers, burners, warm air units, radiant tubes and associated plant
• Complete gas safety checks, testing and certification
• Maintain accurate documentation and compliance records
• Support wider building services teams when required
• Participate in the on‑call rota (enhanced rates apply)

Required Qualifications

• Essential Commercial ACS:
• COCN1 or CODNCO1 (core commercial)
• CIGA1
• CDGA1
• ICPN1
• TPCP1A (or TPCP1)

Desirable

• Domestic changeover (CCN1)
• LPG (CLP1)
• Commercial Catering (COMCAT)
• OFTEC (if dual‑fuel)

Experience Needed

• Strong background in commercial gas maintenance
• Experience working across FM, commercial estates or multi‑site environments
• Confident with diagnostics and fault‑finding
• Good understanding of compliance and safety documentation
• Full UK driving licence
