Job description

Matalan is looking for a Commercial Analyst to join our team! This role offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic retail business, supporting the Store Development / Retail Operations team on key projects and capital investments.

Key Responsibilities in this role:

1. Ensure all purchase orders (POs), receipts, and invoices are processed accurately and in a timely manner.
2. Prepare and manage Capex documentation, including financial appraisals.
3. Monitor capital and revenue spend on active projects, providing weekly updates.
4. Assist with capital reconciliation alongside the Finance team.
5. Support the budget-building process in collaboration with project managers.
6. Manage accruals and ensure financial records are up to date.
7. Provide administrative support to retail finance and field teams.
8. Respond to general store inquiries and ad hoc requests.

Qualifications:

1. Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively and accurately.
2. Experience in raising and managing POs and financial paperwork.
3. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
4. Collaborative working approach to ensure consistency in financial management.
5. Strong understanding of Microsoft Excel and Oracle Financial.
