Job summary

Mills & Reeve is seeking a Data Protection Specialist to act as a trusted adviser to partners, lawyers and business services teams across the firm. You will own significant areas of the data protection programme, including supplier management, client and supplier contracts, and governance.

The role requires a pragmatic, risk-based approach in a regulated professional services environment, with flexibility to be based in any regional office.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018 and related regulatory guidance.
• Experience in non-contentious data protection work, including contracts and supplier management.
• Ability to translate regulatory requirements into pragmatic business advice for senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Provide data protection guidance across the firm, advising on complex issues and risk.
• Lead supplier management and data protection provisions in contracts and procurement.
• Review client contracts and data protection clauses, including data transfers and AI-related provisions.
