Job summary

Mills & Reeve is seeking a Data Protection Specialist to act as a trusted adviser on UK GDPR, data protection contracts and governance across the firm. You will own significant areas of the programme, focusing on supplier management, data transfers and due diligence, embedding compliance into procurement, technology and client engagements.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018.
• Experience with data protection in contracts and supplier management.
• Ability to translate regulatory requirements into pragmatic business advice.

Responsibilities

• Provide shared data protection advice and respond to incidents and regulatory queries.
• Oversee supplier management and review data protection provisions in contracts.
• Review client contracts and data protection clauses in letters and terms.
• Conduct or procure data protection audits and support reporting to risk frameworks.
• Provide data protection input to internal teams and handle subject rights requests.
