Job summary

Mills & Reeve in the United Kingdom is recruiting a Data Protection Specialist to act as a trusted advisor across the firm, owning key data protection workstreams and helping colleagues implement pragmatic, risk-based guidance.

You will work with partners, lawyers and business services to manage supplier and client data protection obligations, data transfer governance and incident response, embedding compliance into procurement, technology and governance.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018.
• Experience applying data protection requirements in a professional services or regulated environment.
• Ability to translate legal/regulatory requirements into practical business advice for senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Provide pragmatic, risk-based data protection advice across the firm.
• Lead supplier management, client and supplier contractual requirements, data protection due diligence and governance.
• Embed data protection into procurement, technology, risk and client engagements; manage incidents and data subject rights responses.
