Job summary

P Ducker Systems Limited is seeking an experienced Commercial & Contract Manager to support a portfolio of transportation and infrastructure technology projects. This role offers exposure to NEC contract administration, commercial risk management and payment mechanisms across ITS, highways, airports, and power sectors.

The position is primarily based at our Derby office with hybrid and flexible working options. Travel is infrequent and typically limited to occasional client or project meetings.

Qualifications

  • Relevant qualifications in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, Construction Management, Law or equivalent practical experience.
  • Membership of a relevant professional body is desirable but not essential.
  • Strong working knowledge and practical application of NEC3 and NEC4 contracts.
  • Experience administering Compensation Events, Early Warning Notices and NEC payment mechanisms.
  • Good understanding of contract law and the practical application of construction contracts.
  • Experience reviewing and negotiating client and subcontract agreements.
  • Strong commercial awareness and contract management skills.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management abilities.
  • High level of competency with Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet demanding deadlines.

  • Assess and manage supplier and subcontractor payment applications.
  • Provide guidance on the interpretation and practical application of NEC contracts.
  • Assist in the resolution of contractual and commercial issues.
  • Support commercial reporting, risk management and best practice across the business.
  • Foster strong working relationships with clients, suppliers and subcontractors.

PDS is seeking an experienced Commercial & Contract Manager to support a portfolio of transportation and infrastructure technology projects.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Quantity Surveyor, Senior Quantity Surveyor, Contracts Manager or commercial professional looking to broaden their experience within a business delivering technology-led solutions across the Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS), Highways, Airports and Power sectors.

The role offers exposure to contract negotiation, NEC contract administration, commercial risk management, client and supply chain contract management, and payment mechanisms across a diverse portfolio of infrastructure technology projects.

This role is primarily office-based from our Derby office, with hybrid and flexible working available. Travel requirements are infrequent and generally limited to occasional client, supplier or project meetings.

£57,500 – £67,500 + Company Performance Bonus + Benefits

Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the Financial Controller and working closely with Directors and Project Managers across the business, you will provide commercial and contractual support throughout the project lifecycle.
