Job summary

AWE plc in Reading is recruiting a Commercial Capability Manager to develop and embed a full capability framework covering competencies, training, development and mentoring. You will identify skill gaps within Commercial and implement training programmes to bridge them, collaborating with department heads to tailor development plans.

This role reports into the Senior Capability Manager. The position offers hybrid working, a 9-day working fortnight, and a competitive salary with benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience in Procurement/Commercial function.
• Experience in HR or other people-related functions focusing on skills and development.
• Strong stakeholder management with ability to influence decision-making.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and the Microsoft suite.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Define and implement a Commercial capability framework including competencies, training, development and mentoring.
• Identify and evaluate skill gaps within Commercial and develop training programmes to bridge them.
• Collaborate with department heads to understand knowledge requirements and create tailored development plans.
• Manage external governing bodies (MOD, DNO, CAB) and opportunities for collaboration across government Commercial skills and development.
• Oversee the Commercial training plans and budget and align with wider HR processes.
