Job summary

AWE is seeking a Principal Commercial Capability & Enablement Manager in Reading. The role leads strategic capability, workforce planning and functional enablement, ensuring the function has the skills and frameworks to meet current and future objectives.

Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer, you will drive capability strategy, governance, and change delivery, building a high-performing team and delivering sustainable capability across the Commercial function.

Qualifications

• Experience leading strategic capability and workforce planning.
• Proven ability to translate strategy into delivery plans across functions.
• Strong leadership and cross-functional collaboration with senior stakeholders.
• Experience preparing executive-level communications and board reports.

Responsibilities

• Drive implementation of the Commercial Functional Strategy with coordinated delivery plans.
• Develop and maintain the Commercial Capability Strategy aligned with objectives and workforce plans.
• Own and evolve the Commercial Competency Framework with HR and governance partners.
• Lead strategic workforce planning, resourcing strategies and RDM for the Commercial Function.
• Oversee recruitment, onboarding, induction and deployment of resources across the function.
• Lead change initiatives and coordinate transformation activities across the organisation.
• Own the Commercial communications strategy and ensure engagement and prioritisation visibility.
• Lead learning, development, talent management, career pathways, succession and knowledge management.
• Coordinate leadership and performance reporting and board narrative.
• Oversee Integrated Business Planning (IBP) and budget management.
