Commercial Banking Relationship Manager

Permanent

Hybrid - M4 West* (Swindon, Bristol, Cardiff area)

What you will do:
  1. Create, grow and maintain a portfolio of Commercial Banking SME customers through business development and by promotion of the Metro Bank relationship banking brand.
  2. Maximise customer relationship, whilst remaining compliant during customer interactions with awareness of Treating Customers Fairly (TCF).
  3. Make lending decisions to support Metro Bank’s business objectives whilst reinforcing the correct Metro Bank operational processes and ensuring we get things right the first time for our customers.
  4. Work with Regional Commercial team colleagues to play a key role in delivering the brand and business model for Commercial Banking, maintaining and growing our commercial book.
  5. Support retail colleagues in local Stores, working collaboratively to generate new business and achieve great results for our customers.
  6. Build key relationships with key internal stakeholders.
  7. Be responsible for credit risk and financial crime risk of your portfolio.

What you will need:
  1. Experience in commercial SME business development and lending, including new business generation, from within a banking/financial services requirement.
  2. Sound knowledge of commercial banking lending, with experience/ability to understand and write credit papers to the required level.
  3. Portfolio and relationship management experience within a financial services environment, including a track record of generating new business.
  4. Excellent communication and customer/client relationship management, passionate about relationship-led banking.
  5. To be proactive to meet (or exceed!) the objectives of the role.
  6. Proven ability to build rapport internally and externally.
  7. Aware of financial crime and 'what good looks like'.
