Job summary

United Infrastructure is looking for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our team. You’ll support the commercial team across the full lifecycle of projects, from measuring completed works to approving subcontractor supply chain applications.

Based in Loughton, you’ll assist with contract management in line with NEC 3/4, subcontractor negotiations and payments, and the preparation of monthly Cost Value Reconciliation and Earned Value reports, maintaining robust commercial documentation.

Qualifications

• Experience with NHF SoR Rates or similar bespoke Sor Rates.
• Familiarity with the construction industry.
• 5 GCSEs (Maths, English, and ideally a Science) at 9-4 (C or above).
• Level 4 related qualification or equivalent is advantageous.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Basic understanding of standard methods of measurement.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to develop and learn software packages.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel.

What You’ll Be Doing

As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor you’ll be responsible for supporting the commercial team and contributing towards its success across the full lifecycle of each project — from Measuring completed works to Approving Sub contractor supply chain applications. You will be supporting:

• Contract management in line with JTC ,NEC 3/4 (Options A & C)
• Subcontractor negotiations, payments, and performance tracking
• Deliver accurate and timely Completed works measures and Billing Processes
• Produce monthly Cost Value Reconciliation and generate Earned Value Analysis reports, whilst maintaining robust commercial documentation.

Qualifications

• Must have Experience in NHF SoR Rates or similar Bespoke Sor Rates
• Familiarity with the construction industry
• 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) at 9-4 (grade C or above), including Math, English, and ideally a Science
• Any previous Level 4 related qualification or equivalent discipline is advantageous
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with a strong emphasis on Excel
• Basic understanding of standard methods of measurement
• Strong numerical and analytical skills
• Ability to produce accurate work under tight deadlinesExcellent attention to detail and organizational skills
