Job summary

United Infrastructure is looking for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our team. You’ll support the commercial team across the full lifecycle of projects, from measuring completed works to approving subcontractor supply chain applications.

Based in Loughton, you’ll assist with contract management in line with NEC 3/4, subcontractor negotiations and payments, and the preparation of monthly Cost Value Reconciliation and Earned Value reports, maintaining robust commercial documentation.

Qualifications

• Experience with NHF SoR Rates or similar bespoke Sor Rates.
• Familiarity with the construction industry.
• 5 GCSEs (Maths, English, and ideally a Science) at 9-4 (C or above).
• Level 4 related qualification or equivalent is advantageous.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Basic understanding of standard methods of measurement.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to develop and learn software packages.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel.

Responsibilities

• Support the commercial team across the full lifecycle of each project.
• Measure completed works and approve subcontractor supply chain applications.
• Contract management in line with JTC and NEC 3/4 (Options A & C).
• Subcontractor negotiations, payments, and performance tracking.
• Produce monthly Cost Value Reconciliation and Earned Value Analysis reports, with robust documentation.
