Cowell Recruitment is partnering with a Bournemouth-based insurance broker to recruit a Commercial Insurance Account Handler. You will manage client relationships and drive new commercial business while offering tailored risk solutions in a fast-growing sector.

Location is Loughborough with a strong training package, fully funded CII qualifications, and a clear route for accelerated career progression within an established team.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in Commercial Insurance or Personal Lines.
• Strong sales track record and client-facing skills.
• GCSE Maths and English at grade 4/C or equivalent.
• Willingness to learn and target-driven mindset.

Responsibilities

• Client Relationship Management: Build, nurture, and maintain strong, long-term relationships with business clients.
• Business Development: Identify, prospect, and secure new commercial business opportunities to hit revenue targets.
• Account Growth: Proactively manage an existing portfolio, identifying up-sell and cross-sell opportunities.
• Consultative Selling: Conduct client meetings to understand objectives, analyse risk, and deliver tailored solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Client Relationship Management: Build, nurture, and maintain strong, long-term relationships with business clients, acting as their trusted point of contact.
• Business Development: Identify, prospect, and secure new commercial business opportunities through networking, warm leads, and market research to consistently hit revenue targets.
• Account Growth: Proactively manage an existing portfolio, identifying up-sell and cross-sell opportunities to maximize revenue and client retention.
• Consultative Selling: Conduct client meetings to deeply understand their business objectives, analyze risk, and deliver tailored, comprehensive risk solutions.

What We Are Looking For

• Background & Experience:
  • Option A: 2+ years of experience within Commercial Insurance or Personal Lines looking to make the step up.
  • Option B: A strong, proven background in B2B Sales / Account Management (e.g., SaaS, recruitment, telecoms, financial services, corporate services) with a passion for learning a new industry.
• Sales Track Record: A demonstrable history of meeting targets, strong prospecting ability, and outstanding client-facing skills.
• Communication: Exceptional negotiation, relationship-building, and consultative presentation skills.
• Education: Minimum Grade 4/C (or equivalent) in GCSE Maths and English.
• Ambition: A self-starter mentality with the drive to stamp your mark on the local commercial market.
