Job summary

RE Recruitment is helping a Cheltenham-based insurance brokerage recruit a Commercial Account Handler on a permanent basis. The role supports Account Executives, handles client and insurer enquiries, and manages claims end-to-end while maintaining compliance.

The successful candidate will have extensive commercial insurance experience, excellent communication, and strong organizational skills, with SSP experience viewed positively and a CII qualification bonus.

Qualifications

• At least 10 years of commercial insurance experience.
• Strong customer service and relationship-building abilities.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills.
• Experience with SSP is highly advantageous.
• Cert CII or working towards it is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Support Account Executives with day-to-day management of commercial client accounts.
• Handle client and insurer enquiries while ensuring documentation and systems are accurate and compliant.
• Manage insurance claims from initial notification to resolution, liaising with all parties.
• Build strong relationships with insurers and clients and provide advice on commercial insurance products.
• Prepare client presentations, maintain scheme management procedures and identify opportunities to support business growth.

Our client, a well-established insurance brokerage, based in Cheltenham, has an exciting new opportunity for a Commercial Account Handler to join their team on a permanent basis due to continued business growth. The successful Commercial Account Handler should have:

• A minimum of 10 years commercial insurance experience with strong customer service skills.


• Excellent organisational, communication and relationship-building abilities.


• Good IT skills, with experience using SSP being highly advantageous.


• Cert CII qualification (or working towards it) would be beneficial.


• A proactive, dependable approach with excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to manage a busy workload.

In this role, the Commercial Account Handler will be responsible for:

• Supporting Account Executives with the day-to-day management of commercial client accounts.


• Handling client and insurer enquiries while ensuring all documentation and systems remain accurate and compliant.


• Managing insurance claims from initial notification through to resolution, liaising with all parties to achieve the best outcome for clients.


• Building strong relationships with insurers and clients while providing advice on a wide range of commercial insurance products.


• Preparing client presentations, maintaining scheme management procedures and identifying opportunities to support business growth.
