Job summary

Stafflex Industrial Recruitment Limited is hiring for a College Student Support & Safety Officer in Huddersfield. You will be the friendly, calm, campus-facing presence supporting students aged 16+.

The role includes CCTV monitoring, access control, and basic IT tasks as part of site safety duties. We expect confident communications, effective de-escalation, and the ability to work with college staff to resolve issues.

Qualifications

• Experience working with young people aged 16+, or public-facing roles with challenging situations.
• Confident communication, good judgement and de-escalation skills.
• Empathy for students facing personal, learning or mental health challenges.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Basic IT skills and safeguarding commitment.
• Experience in college/youth settings is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Be a friendly, approachable presence around the college.
• Speak with students respectfully and respond calmly to conflict.
• Work with staff to raise concerns and help resolve issues.
• Monitor CCTV and stay alert to safety or security risks.
• Assist with access control and securing buildings and site duties.
• Keep clear records and use college IT systems as needed.
