As a learning support assistant you will work across classes, provide 1:1 or small group support, manage behaviour, de-escalate crises when needed, and help learners
Veritas Education are working in partnership with a variety of college settings in the Leeds area, who are looking to recruit multiple learning support workers. The post 16 settings offer a range of vocational and further educational curriculums to all attending students, with internal plans and provisions in place to help support those learners requiring additional support.
As a learning support worker, you must be confident in supporting across a range of classes around the setting, helping children access their education, and helping them achieve academic and independent growth.
Throughout the role, learning support workers will need to be able to manage behaviour across the classroom, and on a 1:1 basis, helping manage disruptiveness within the lesson, keep learners focused and engaged, and de-escalate at risk or crisis behaviour.
